Tour duration
This tour is advertised online as 14 days. In some cases, with an overnight flight on the return, you will land on the morning of day 14. However, on some departure dates your return flight will land late on day 13. We're sorry that we're unable to show the correct duration. Be assured that the tour will operate as per the printed itinerary.
Hotel transfer times
The transfer time from the airport to your hotel is approximately 45 minutes.
Flight information
Please note, all flights operate via Nairobi or Addis Ababa.
Manchester departures
If you are travelling on Ethiopian Airlines from and to Manchester please be advised that there is a short stop of 1hr in either Geneva or Marseille enroute. Please note that you will not be required to disembark.
Luggage allowance
You are permitted to take one suitcase per person on the aircraft, which should not exceed 23kg.
Soft-sided luggage is preferable over hard-sided suitcases as these are easier to fit into the safari vehicle.
Disabled access
The majority of our tours involve a certain amount of walking, including a short walk from the coach stop to the town, attraction or venue you're visiting. If you are bringing a wheelchair, please let us know at the time of booking so that appropriate arrangements can be made. In many developing countries access is sometimes not as easy as at home. Should you have walking difficulties, getting around monuments and attractions may be harder and, in some cases, impossible. Should you have any concerns whatsoever please do contact us prior to travel.
Changes to your hotel
Should circumstances require, we reserve the right to accommodate you in alternative hotels, of a similar standard, nearby. Full details of your hotels will be sent with your Final Travel Documents.
All-inclusive service
All-inclusive service will only be available at your Mombasa beach resort. All other accommodations (days 5-9) will be offered under full-board basis and all drinks will be payable locally.
2027 itinerary
For tours departing in 2027, the safari section of your itinerary will follow a different order, starting in Tsavo East National Park and finishing in the Taita Hills Sanctuary.
All accommodations and excursions will remain the same.
Road conditions
In developing countries, road networks are continually being improved and expanded, which can mean that roadworks and rough road surfaces can occasionally extend journey times. Some journeys are made on winding mountain roads and passes, which may also make for slow travelling, although the scenery often makes up for this. Many roads do not have separate pavements or safety barriers, and great care should be taken when crossing or walking alongside roads.
Special requirements
If you have notified us of any special requirements, please check that they have been noted and acknowledged. This is especially important with any dietary needs you may have.
Itinerary changes
Occasionally, for operational reasons, we may have to change the order of the excursions on your holiday. The final day-by-day itinerary will be confirmed on your Final Travel Documents, which you will receive approximately three weeks prior to your departure.
Travel vaccinations
Requirements and advice can vary over time, and from person to person, so please contact your GP about eight weeks before your trip to check whether you need any vaccinations or any other preventive measures.
Passports and visas
British Citizens require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to travel to Kenya, which can be applied for online. We will send you details prior to travel. Passports must be valid for six months from your date of entry into Kenya, and have two adjacent blank pages available for arrival in Kenya.
Kenya mandatory travel insurance
All travellers to Kenya must purchase mandatory travel insurance. The current price is $45pp, but this is subject to change without notice. This fee is on top of the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) fee, and it must be purchased during the ETA application. Travellers will not be able to complete their ETA application without purchasing the insurance.
You must still have your own personal travel insurance in place.
